Waterville Days is a special Fairheld in the town of Waterville, WA not far from Wenatchee. This Fair included activities in the kid’spark, a fun run, wonderful car show (although no one accepted my offer to drivetheir car in the parade) music, good food (especially the carmel corn which weloved) and all of us vendors, and it all kicked off with a parade. It was great and well organized.

We havesome wonderful supporters from the town, so we decided to participate in thisevent. Our purpose in attending the Fairwas to hand out information regarding Compassionate Friends to let as manypeople as possible know about our support services, and to promote our QuiltRaffle with the drawing to be held at our “Walk To Remember” in September.

Early inthe morning, on an absolutely beautiful day for a country fair, we headed forthe small town of Waterville and eventually found a parking space. Just everyone from this town and surroundingarea came in for the event so parking was defiantly a challenge.

We got there and signed in and I expected to be located at the end ofthe park since we were new and a non-profit group, but the organizers of theFair felt differently and put our booth in the center of the event so that wecould be seen from all directions and that was awesome to have that recognitionwithout asking.

We had a lot of traffic at our booth– some just looking to see what this organization was all about; some to findsupport for themselves and family members, some to buy raffle tickets; and someled by their children to have one of our give-a-ways for our children. And the surprise of all was to have ourquilter (Debbie Jones) who made our beautiful quilt with us at the Fair. We sold a lot of raffle tickets as everyonejust loved this quilt to include a family visiting from Texas – handed out alot of information about our services – and the kid’s toys are almost gone andwere enjoyed. What a full day this wasfor us and an event for us to look forward to next year for sure.

A special thank you goes to theorganizers, Lisa Davies and her team of the Waterville Main Street Association. And a very special thank you to Debbie Jones, our quilter, our supporters and team from our Chapter for making this event asuccess.

Raffle Tickets can be purchased bycontacting Carol at (509) 860-3620. Allproceeds from the sale go directly to help our Chapter in supporting ourfamilies who have lost a child or loved one.
